Dom if your going to order the Shimmies make sure they are in stock, I had a hell of a job finding the 3 that I bought as Shimano wont be re-stocking the UK market until March this year, other wise they will hold on to your money till then fella,if your going to get them get the 10,000 xsa this is the deeper version of the 1 spool, they are supplied with 3 spools 1 deep for heavy mono and 2 shallow spools for braid or thinner mono. I think they may have dropped a bollock cos they give me 3 deep spools. The 6000xsa is the shallow version only. Cracking reels fella, loads of line storage, very nice line lay which can be altered to create a tapered profile to aid casting with the supplied washers, easy to maintain via the maintenance port, loads of cranking power and If anything did ever go wrong with them the service centre is only in Felindre on the way to Springs.Hope this helps fella J

Cheers J, they are showing as in stock on most websites, erics and england angling have a few on an off chance, would you be interested in swapping a set of shallow spools for a set of deep ones if it comes to it?

just found this on tackle trader a how to guide to converting your emblems to QD , dont know whether it safe but you can always put back what you change Don't waste money paying someone to do it, just follow these instructions. Take the spool cap off and look into the central hole underneath you will see a hex-head nut. You need a socket to undo that nut, remove the black insert, take out the spring and put somewhere safe. Make sure you put plenty of grease back in and then redo the nut, that's the fiddly bit.
worth a go , alyn.
